“National Mobility Awareness Month is a proclaimed month that will be celebrated throughout the month of May. The purpose is to educate the public that people with disabilities constitute the 2nd largest minority group in the United States. Over 18 million people in the U.S. and Canada have mobility issues. Six million of those are veterans.”
Nmeda.com has put together a contest, giving 3 lucky winners a new customized van that will fit the needs of their disability. The contest is to showcase YOUR local hero. MY local hero is my grandmother, Margarete Dieguez. She was diagnosed with Polio when she was a young teenager and has been fighting the battle of this terrible disease. She is the strongest woman I know, and I entered her in this contest with the hopes of getting her a brand new van.

It was located at a vintage style hotel named ACE Hotel and Swim Club. I was lucky enough to win a ticket to this conference through an online magazine I visit daily, Smashing Magazine.

It’s Friday so put on your headphones, sit back, and relax.
“Welcome Home, Son” is a chill song by Radical Face. This song is on the album “Ghost” and is honestly my favorite track off the album. It is a few years old, but fits in with the upcoming Fall season.

Matt and I went on a little date to Birch Aquarium at Scripps (La Jolla) this afternoon. It was incredible to see all the different types of seahorse, jellyfish, and variations of big and little fish. They also have a patio with a tide pool that overlooks La Jolla Shores, which was a nice break from all the kids running everywhere in the aquarium. I took my camera and captured some really cool photographs.
